Wildcats and Rams
Kennebunk Takes Down Wildcats
Kennebunk ME -- Zach Trembley blasted 4 goals yesterday as the 8th Grade Boys Soccer Team notched a 5-1 victory over Kennebunk. Zach also assisted on the 5th goal netted by Jasper Trafton. Grady Geller added an assist and played excellent midfield. Aiden Mello, Tyler Moores, and Max Hunter were stellar on defense.
The hosts took an early 1-0 lead with a big blast over goalkeeper Devin Conte's outstretched arms. The Wildcats fought right back and netted the equalizer off Zach's right foot blast. A handful of minutes later, York was awarded a free kick right outside the area and another Zach blast gave the Wildcats their first lead of the season at 2-1.
York looked to go up by a pair with a penalty kick late in the first frame. Jasper Trafton's upper corner shot was turned aside by the Rams keeper.
The second half proved to be more of the Zach Trembly story as two more goals poured in giving the visitors a comfortable margin. The final dagger was a nice partial breakaway
by Jasper. The speedy striker won the race and slid to the turf as the ball slid past the keeper for the final margin of victory.
It was a fantastic effort by all 13 players on the Wildcats team.
Devin Conte and Robert Dickson each played a half in goal and were superb in shutting down the Rams.
The Wildcats, who are now 1-1, are back in action on Thursday at the Village Field as they host Saco at 5:00 pm.
